Doctor office lost my childs med records

i have recently recieved custody of my 11 y/o daughter and i have been trying to get her medical records from the dr that my x has been taking her to. i have been trying for two weeks and now they are telling me that they have lost them. i have a court order that state i am to have access to all these records. i am frustrated that they are refusing to give them to me. i know they have them in that office somewhere. should i get the law involved, report this to the medical board, nursing board(since the nurse said she lost them), sue the office, or just drop it? please help! custodial dad, Mississippi

First send a certified letter to the doctor and enclose a copy of the court order.
Ask you ex if there is a home record of vaccinations, etc.
Does your daughter have any chronic disease or condition that makes this so urgent? By this age, most kids have had all their "shots" and experienced "chicken pox".

You might also try posting this in the family law section. I just happened to be goofing around and seen this.. you did get good advice here but again you might want to try the other section also.
