Drug-induced/Autopsy

What is the name of your state? Illinois. If something is found to be drug-induced, or iatrogenic at an autopsy, then should this not be specifically mentioned on the autopsy report? Thanks.

**A: what do you mean " if something is found...?" Would this autopsy be on pet animal or something?

Drug-induced/Autopsy

Thanks for responding. No this was an autopsy on a human. The pathologist told me my son had drug-induced liver damage, but there was not any term meaning drug-induced on the autopsy report. (the medication he was on, carbamazepine, can be toxic to the liver).

I copied that last statement of yours so I could see it. This site does not allow me to read your questions once I hit "answer".

Anyway, this does not sound like a good necropsy report. You say "pathologist" and that tells me this is a hospital post mortem examination. The remarks you have quoted do not sound as if they are disinterested and objective. I think you should not allow your son to be sent to the mortuary too fast. See a lawyer now and have your son'd remains taken to the County Coroner for a better post. Carbamazepine is a dangerous drug and has been shown to damage the liver. Your son was taking this medicine for seizures? Who was his doctor? Specialty? Did this doctor have your son under close observation?
Get to a good malpractice lawyer NOW. Do not delay.

This was an autopsy done by a forensic pathologist not in a hospital. My son is already buried. I am having more forensic testing on his specimens at an independant lab. He was being treated by a neurologist. He was not monitored properly on this medication. His meds were doubled. His last medical record dissappeared for 10 months. I believe there was a cover-up . I have to be careful of what I post. Thank You.

My response:

Just click on the "Quote" button of the response you want to respond to, and voila! (Just like I did with your response, above).

To IAAL: Thanks. I learn something everyday.
I am glad to see that our mother is handling her case well. That doictor did not attend his patient properly. Too bad.
