ellencee, can I get your opinion? What is the name of your state? Nebraska What is the name of your state? nebraska This question is for a friend. She was having some pregnancy complications at 4 weeks along. Some cramping and other problems (I am not sure exactly what). Anyway she went to the local ER and she told them she was pregnant, they said she wasn't. They said her hcg levels were low and she must have miscarried, they then sent her home. Knowing they were wrong she went to another doctor in a different town and that doctor told her the baby was perfectly healthy and that her problems were from a blocked intestine!!!!! This is not the first incident from this hospital. The same PA this woman saw also saw another friend of mine that was cramping and the P.A. told her she had a bladder infection. She insisted she was in labor. The babies heart rate was good and they told her to go home and relax. She called back cramping and they said she had a bladder infection, they gave her macrobid (sp?) and sent her home. As soon as she got inthe door she needed to go to the bathroom and when she sat down the baby miscarried! She was 7 months along. No one ever wants to complain about the crappy care this place gives women. Can I complain about this situations anonymously?

| ryry's mom Yes, you can make a complaint without revealing your name or the names of the women. Complaints that are made anonymously are often not given the same consideration as those with the sender's name, address, phone number or email address. If you send a letter of complaint to an accrediting agency, such as Joint Commission, you need to provide them with dates and times and departments (ER) and names of the staff members against whom you are complaining. You can always send a letter to the State Representative(s) for that area and express your concern for the women in the representative's area. At least then, the State Representative will know that one of his or her constituants has a concern about women's health care in parts of the state that are represented by his or office. Either way, unless you request to meet with the accrediting agency on their next on-site review, you will probably not receive a response from them and you will probably only receive a nice form-letter from the State Representative--but, hey--that means your voice has been heard! Go get 'em! ![]()
