| our brother was killed in the coal mines . we have since gotten the inspectors report . it states that the machine he was on was faulty. my sister in-law has a suit against the company, she lives in a different state . her lawyer has told her to tell us(his one brother and 4 sisters) that we may not bring a suit against the company. is this true? is there nothing we can do to this company for the faulty machine? he was only 37 years old.we were all so very close, and his death has been very devestating for us all. someone please help us with this!!! |

| Civil litigation is primarily designed to compensate people for economic loss that they suffer. It can not bring someone back. NORMALLY brothers and sisters can not sue, but spouses and children can. This is a wrongful death matter and the state laws differ, but if you are not beneficiaries of his or his heirs at law, you have no financial interest.
