Question

Foreign objects found in prepackaged food products

I have found tree leaves (they appear to be oak) in a bag of Act II Microwave Popcorn. The Cornell Univerity website
(http://www.ansci.cornell.edu/plants/oak.html)
lists oak leaves as poisonous. I consumed half a bag of this popcorn before discovering the leaf fragments. I still have the bag, with a piece of popcorn "popped around" a portion of a leaf.

This naturally has me pretty shaken. I called a poison control center, which told me that I have "nothing to worry about", but I am still quite concerned.

I want to know whether I have any grounds for bringing suit against the makers of Act II (Golden Valley Microwave Foods) for including potentially poisonous or dangerous substances in their products, and for scaring me out of my wits.

I am in Houston, Texas.

You have no coffee grounds because you were not injured in any way. Next time buy Orville's brand.

As I suspected. Poison Control advised my to notify the Health Department, which is what I will do. Thanks!
