Question

Glass in my McDonalds Coffee?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

I just bought an iced coffee at mcdonalds this morning and sucked a piece of glass through my straw, i thought it was a piece of ice so i bit it and it ended up being a piece of glass. What can I do about this? I'm supposed to go into McDonalds at noon and speak with the manager of the store, they only agreed to give me a free meal or refund my money. I don't think that's good enough, Glass in coffee=dangerous...

Hi brittneybang.

You're entitled to compensation for your actual damages. Although glass in coffee is certainly dangerous, you are not entitled to compensation for what could have happened. You are only entitled to compensation for what did happen.

If you weren't injured, then it sounds like a free meal or refund is about right. Good luck!

If it was glass, you would have been cut. It must have been plastic of some sort, which is not nearly as dangerous.
