Helping out a friend

What is the name of your state? Idaho

I have a friend, he started seeing this girl. She told him she was legally separated from her husband. ( she was not .) He saw her for a few months. One day the husband to this girl come up to my friend and told him that she has HIV. Now he’s all scared he has it too. The girl broke off the relationship with my friend and have moved back with her husband. I want to know if there is any legal action he can take against her when she knew she had HIV?? What should he do? Thanks for your help You Guys ROCK

My response:

All you said was, "the husband to this girl come up to my friend and told him that she has HIV." Being "told" and actually "having" HIV are two, totally, different things.

Well, was your "friend" tested?

It will take 4 to 5 months before he will know if he has HIV. The girl he was seeing did not deny she has it either. Yes he has been tested. But wont it be to long for him to prove he got it from her 4 to 5 months down the road? What should he do now to protect himself?

My response:

"Protect himself" now? Isn't it a bit late to be thinking about "protection"?

Since the results haven't come back yet, he has not yet suffered any damages - - and, without damages, there can be no lawsuit.

He'll just have to wait it out.
