| I live in TN hired attorney to get permission to encumber property in which my 2 minor children have 1/4th intrest (want to refinance at lower intrest) attorney was paid 7/99 petition filed with court 8/99 still no court date. he will not return calls. What can I do? |

| Dear jleehensley; You have several options....(1) go to his office unannounced and wait until he sees you. (2) Contact the Tennessee State Bar and tell them what your complaint is. Most bars now have a "liason" type person who handles minor complaints such as this one, by contacting the attorney and notifying him that you have been in touch with the bar and would like to resolve the problem at that level, before filing a formal complaint.
