legality of taping conversations with a patientWhat is the name of your state? New Jersey Is it legal in New Jersey for a dentist to audio tape and video tape conversations with me, the patient, without advising me of this? Is it ever justified? Under what circumstances? The dentist is not stupid. I wonder if this is legal and/or considered ethical? I'm thinking it must be legal if he says it is to record conversations for posterity, but shouldn't the patient know about it???? |

| In most states it is legal to tape conversations with one party consent. Which means as long as he knows he is being taped then it doesn't matter about the patients.
