Question

Is there a statute of limitations in Michigan to sue a hospital for malpractice. We have a hospital suing us for payment when it was their fault my husband was there as long as he was. There definitely was malpractice involved, but it was just over 2 years ago. We have to respond to a paper we were served and I am not sure how to respond.
Thank you.

Kelly, My attorney told me there is a 2 year statute of limitations. My husband died in June after having been seen by Reed City Hospital at least twice and sent home saying it was just nerves. I think I have a good case but no money to start it. But 2 years may be enough time. Good luck to you

Judy,
Mine has been over 2 years, but in your case I think I would see if I could find an attorney who would take it on contingency. Good luck to you.
