What is the name of your state? Nebraska I have severely flat feet. The doctor I have been seeing since i was 14 has always given me the same $700 orthodics and said nothing else can be done. I am always in pain. recently i went to see a specialist for a second opinion and he said the orthodics i have been wearing do nothing for my feet but make them hurt worse. Suggested an alternate orthodic($150) and they feel great. I still owe over $300.00 on the other orthodics and can't wear them again. Is there any way i can get out of paying for them if they don't help.

You may not have much chance in a malpractice lawsuit, although I'd certainly talk to a lawyer about your case. Two things will happen if you and your lawyer file a lawsuit. First, of course you may win. But second, you can stop all payments to the first guy.
You might, if you decide not to sue, write the podiatrist (is he?) a letter telling him you got a second opinion, and that because the second doctor gave you a cheaper pair that "cured" your flat feet, you have decided to stop paying him for defective and ill fitting orthotics. Then let him whistle.
