Medical Malpractice suit?

south carolina-
ok- on february 13, 2002 I went to a doctors appt. in regards to some pains I'd been having. this was only the second time I had been to this doctors office in which there are two doctors. the first doctor I saw on february 4, 2002 told me that laparoscopic surgery may need to be done to see if the problem was visible. When I went on the 13th, I saw the other doctor, who then did an ultrasound on me. she told me that I had an ovarian cyst, and that the surgery needed to be done to remove it. The surgery was scheduled for february 19, 2002. the surgery was performed by the first doctor that I saw. after the surgery, the doctor proceeded to tell my mother that "my organs are beautiful" and there was no cyst to begin with. so therefore, to me, that means this surgery was done for no reason. So now, not only am I in MORE pain that was not necessary to begin with, but I was also out of work for an entire week, about $300 in lost wages. what do you think?

They have "ruled out" the ovarian cyst. That is all it means. If you are continuing to have pain then something else may be the problem. Finding causes is often a series of ruling out various possiblilites.
Laparoscopy for a mere look-see should not require a week off from work.

well, they should not have TOLD me that I had and ovarian cyst, it should have worded that it was possible that i did if they were not sure. I was also instructed by the doctor herself that I would need to be out of work for a week, thanks.
