medical malpratice

hi! i am from tennessee about 5 years ago i had female surgery and than two days later in went back into surgery because i was running a fever the doctor didn't do any test on be before the 2nd surgery and she just assumed that she hit something. i came out of surgery fine she found infection where she did the surgery but! the worst of it i couldn't breath good but she seet me home anyway and than two days later i went in to respatory arest and was in ICU fighting for my life another doctor told my family i wouln't make it through the night but think god i did. my understanding working in the health feild she should of did a chest x-ray before both surgerys and she didn't and there was alot more things that she did wrong. i contacted a lawyer and one told me i don't have enough money for him to help and one told me that i walk up the stairs that is what the court will say, i am now 35 and i have c.o.p.d and very sick all the time because of her do i have a case or has my time ran out. as for now i have been out of work again for over a month what kind of life is that, i can't even do my job and support my two kid and for the doctor now she left town because malpratice what sould i do?
