I just recently (03/21/01) had sinus surgery after 3 years of suffering numerous tests (all abnormal) and procedures, the doctor who did my surgery apologized for the suffering and said they should have seen it in 1999 but overlooked. They referred me to a neurologist during that time saying it was neurological and the neurologist said it was inner ear? Nothing was ever resolved. My new primary care doctor ordered a CAT scan of my head because of a continuous headache I was having, which showed blocked sinuses and narrowed passages as well as an abnormality. My question is: were the doctors negligent and how do I go about recovering from this pain and suffering not to mention lost time from work all my vacationa and sick leave days for the past 2 years have been used up on being sick.
Please help I live in North Carolina.

Well, you may be able to collect, but you better hurry up. Statute of limitations is short - -about a couple of years and this will depend on what the court deems as the day you became aware of your true injuries/were injured.

So....hire a medical malpractice attorney ASAP. Try your North Carolina State Bar Association lawyer referral program or http://www.attorneypages.com

Thank you lawrat, I don't think I am in a position to sue as I am still in the healing process from the surgery. I do not feel well and I don't knopw if it is the meds they have me on or , if in fact this surgery came so late that it will leave my eustachian tube impaired for life, Any suggestions as to what to do next?
