Mold in juice, possibly causing severe headaches

What is the name of your state? NY

I had been drinking 8 ounces of a juice product daily for the past 2 weeks when I bought 6 cases.
Last week I started developing severe headaches, they got so bad I went to the ER last night.
Before going to the ER I was going to drink some juice, but this time I didn't shake and after pouring it out I looked into the cap and saw a large clump of white, what looked like mold. I immediately took photos.

I don't know if there is a connection between the mold and my illness, though I can't think of any other explanation, nothing else has changed in my diet or activity to cause these headaches which ive never experienced before. Either way, I believe the product is not packaged correctly if mold can form. I would like advice on if I should proceed with action against this company.

I have a job. Get a life.

To the rest, as I stated above I don't know if there is a connection between mold and this illness. I'm aware of cases where mold spores are quite dangerous. I am also aware of cases where defective packaging is by itself enough to warrant a case. Either way, I am contacting attorneys now and welcome any, or any advice.

Did you contact the manufacture 1st??
Also maybe you should contact a neurologist before a lawyer.
What did the emergency room Dr. tell you?

Just so that I know, what kind of juice is this you speak of? I want to know what it is so that I don't make the same mistake and buy it.

How many times can I post this thing already?
http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/dalbook.html#CHPTD

For example:
Quote:
TOMATO JUICE
Mold (AOAC 965.41) Average mold count in 6 subsamples is 24% or more and the counts of all of the subsamples are more than 20%

DEFECT SOURCE: Mold - preharvest and/or post harvest and/or processing infection
SIGNIFICANCE: Aesthetic
Just consider it a "bonus" gift.

I am going to contact the manufacturer.
I haven't thought about a neurologist, thats a possibility.
The Dr. think its a sinus infection / sinusitis, the question is what caused it.

I had a similar experience years ago, which may or may not help you. I had just finished a Snapple and noticed some weird grape-like sediment gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Grossed me out so much I won't look at Snapple anymore. I contacted them, they asked for the bottle in question, I sent it and got some free T shirts and more Snapple, as compensation , which I gave to my neighbor, who drank it up (he loves Snapple).
Yep, true story. You probably have a sinus infection (try asking your doc for a Zpack if not allergic)

Why are you trying to give medical advice?

No Z-pack (http://www.aafp.org/afp/981115ap/fagnan.html) ... antibiotic resistance is already a HUGE problem ... go back to the doc if your symptoms are still persisting.

You wouldn't likely get any compensation from the juice company though you might be able to get your money back and some freebies. My fiance got stale beer from Sam Adams, drank one and got very sick - called the company and they replaced the six pack and gave him a free T-shirt and some coupons.

Why not?
Actually, if he does have a sinus infection, a zpack is the most common and effective abx ordered (right, loveumms? It was just a helpful suggestion (the advice given here is worth what you pay for ) I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt that he will check with his own docs first.
