| i currently live in florida. diagnosed in 5/96 with major depression and anxiety disorder while living in NY. Sought care with MD here in FL, called on 7/6/01 for refills on my 4 medications, one med can't be stopped immediately without risk of seizures. On 7/6/01, MD secretary determined how much med I would receive without consulting MD first. Rx's never called, tried reach MD, service stated he was not to be paged for Rx's. Family had to rush me to ER. Wrote to MD regarding episode, to date no response from him. Any comments please? Thank you! |

| First, and foremost, a secretary is not licensed or authorized to prescribe medication, therefore, you have a malpractice case. Secondly, if your condition required emergency medical treatment, because your MD didn't refill your Rx's, that HE prescribed for you, then he is negligent. Contact the Florida State Board of Medical Examiners and file a complaint against the doctor. Then, find yourself a good medical malpractice attorney. PamSJS |
