| I live in Texas, while on vacation our propane tank ran out of gas and we had it filled, the serviceman did not perform a pressure test,3 weeks later the tank is empty and all we had running propane was the hot water heater. Is there a law stating that the company must perform a pressure test if the tank is empty? What is the appropriate response from my side? The company has come out and said the tank is no good and we need to buy another tank and have it filled.Should I have to pay for the refilling of the tank since they didn't perform the required test?If you need more info let me know,I tried to be as brief as possible and didn't go into a lot of detail. Thanks, Paul Jones |

| In most instances the provider {filler of the tank) does not perform pressure tests on induvidual tanks unless requested prior to fill. A static pressure test would only reveal a small leak after several hours to days. This is an inconvienence to most customers requesting refills of tanks. A suggestion would be also when the tank is installed on the RV unit is to have the complete system checked for leaks at a service dealership to ensure that the leak was not only caused by a faulty tank. |
