Refusal to Treat Patient

What is the name of your state? Florida

Can a private hospital legally deny you non-emergency medical attention for an oustanding bill from a previous surgery?

I don't see why not. They are in the business to make money.

Of course. If any person in business thinks you are a deadbeat he has a right to refuse you service. You say "non emergency"? Do you expect a hospital or anyone to give you free service?
