Rugs caused floor yellowingI'm in WA State and my situation involves bathroom rugs that caused my white linoleum floor to yellow. I'm in a high end rental apartment and I'm afraid that I'll be charged to replace the floor. The reason I know that the rugs caused the yellowing is that there is only yellowing on the floor where the rugs have been. I spoke to my father who retired from a floor covering business about trying to remove the yellowing. He said it's impossible because it's a chemical reaction between the rug's backing and the composition of the linoleum. He mentioned that there have been class action lawsuits against the rug manufacturer's for producing a defective product and have had to pay for people to replace their floors. I can't seem to find anything about this in searching Google. I would like to know how to find out about these claims as I think the company that made the rug that caused the yellowing should pay to replace the floor. Should I contact the company directly and ask that they pay for replacement or contact a lawyer to join a class action (if it's still possible) or file a separate suit? Thanks, Kim |

Then, if without satisfaction, talk with a local attorney. However, it is likely the cost of a suit (with limited success potential) would far outweigh the cost of the floors.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

Uh-oh I think any case you would bring to court about this would be argued out, with you holding a bill from your attorney. On the other hand there's a product called UH-OH that is a remarkable cleaner that came complimentary with my purchase of ready-strip. I have used it to take stains and off-color marks out of furniture finishes IE. A cherry wood armoire suffered some white paint scuffs that marked the finish and would not come out with conventional methods, I tried the cleaner and it removed the stains immediately. Good luck! ![]() |

| I agree with JETX, I think it would be better if you contact the manufacturer first before taking any legal action. ![]() Last edited by m martin; 01-23-2006 at 11:43 AM. |
