statue of limitations

I am looking for the statue of limitations on sueing a doctor that I believe was the cause of my fathers death. I am in connecticut and my father died in nov. of 1997. There is however a pending compensation case which was settled on prior to death. During this long dragged out process I found out information that leads me to believe my father was taken advantage of and not treated properly leading to his death. It would be of great help if someone could answer me.Thankyou.
