state is indiana

i was in an auto accident last year and the seat belt clasp broke which caused excessive injury to my person. i found out about 2 months after my accident that the seat belt clasps on my car were faulty, and that my car was being recalled.

could i sue my car manufacturer for the injuries i sustained due to the faulty seatbelts?

can i sue the car manufacturer if i am currently involved in a lawsuit with the insurance company of the lady who hit me?
