Torte reform liability limits

In Louisiana, I have been told that medical malpractice damage limits have been limited to a total of $100,000? There are no longer punative damages, etc. Is this information accurate and when did it become effective? xk140 Jaguar

Regarding medical malpractice in Louisiana, check out La. R.S. 40:1299.42, it talks about two limitations, one is $100K, another is $500K. This law doesn't seem recent. Go to [URL=http://www.legis.state.la.us/tsrs/search.htm]http://www.legis.state.la.us/tsrs/search.htm[/URL] to search La. laws.
