tree falls on parked car

my car was parked in a mall parking lot under a tree, a branch from the tree broke and landed on my car. the branch removed about an inch of glass and the is cracked through out, there was also scratches on the body of the car. is the property owner liable for this damage?

also, i tried looking this up myself, so if you could tell me how you got to your anwer, id be doubly oblidged.
