| I live in South Carolina. I have a 8 month old Chinese pug. I took him to the vet to be nuetered and when I went to pick him up his jaw was wired. The vet gave me a lot of vague maybes as explanations for needing to do this wiring of his mandible.(from bone disease to injury) On my bill it said fracture fixation. I would have known if my puppy's jaw was broken. I think I would have although I am taking him in the morning to another vet for advice on this matter. He said he noticed his jaw shifted while extracting a baby tooth. I think that he broke his jaw while pulling his tooth. Do I have a leg to stand on if he refuses to deduct the charges from my bill? Assuming that the vet tells me that it was broken. There are many more details if needed I was just trying to keep it short untill I get my second opinion. Thankyou |

| sorry to hear about you dog. i am a veterinary nurse. Hmmm i could not see that pulling a baby tooth would break a jaw on an 8 month old dog. How many teeth were pulled? You have a right to see the records, request them. i my experience, our vets dod not do anything unless the client knows about it. IE: a phone call to you to let you know what is gong on, they noticed a problem with the jaw ect. Not to present your puppy with a wired jaw. did they call you and tell you they needed to wire his jaw? Like i said get the records, this wil tell you what anesthesia they used ect. heave you new vet take radiographs of his jaws, maybe they can tell what happened. In essence if they did not call you and let you know what they were doing or you were given an estimate od charges and walked out with a big bill, you may have a right to get the money back.. good luck to you and i hope your puppy is dong well. |
