Wrongful Death

I need to know if I am getting taken. My husband died in a hospital as a result of a doctors admitted mistake. The hospital is settling with me out of court . My laywer has advised me to ask for 6 million. He says we can't go up once we submit this ammount. Is this true? I figure after I pay him and Uncle Sam I might end up with half that ammount. Also wondering if there are any other grounds I can sue them on, of if I settle now is that it? I live in KY Thanks LJ

How old was your husband? What type of mistake did the hospital admit to? Why was he in the hospital?
