$104.64 debt? AFTER 10YRS!!!


What is the name of your state? california a debt collector sent me paperwrk in mail to a old address that i no longer live at! now!10yrs later there are stated that i did not pay a last phone bill,from 1997 in state of florida were i live for 11mnths,dont ever recall NOT paying a last bill,and even if i had forgotten i wold pay a petty 104.64! so finally they got ahold of a current address for me.i did respone to the letter stating need more info,it took them another 4mnths to get back to me,regarding this issue!is there not a law or against the law to try to collect a debt after so many years! and they dont even have correct info on me.i would think that i would have some kind if infi on my credit report,im very well in touch with my credit! they dont have any info on any debt.help!!!

In CA there is, yes, it's called the Rosenthal Act and it's California's tougher version of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Send them a cease and desist letter telling them never to bother you again as the debt is time-barred under CA law. Send it certified, RRR and keep copies of everything.
