Print outs are NOT validation. What was the debt for?

Let's not overgeneralize. Printouts may be sufficient.

Ahem everyone: Steve is a COLLECTION AGENCY EMPLOYEE so any advice given should be suspect.

Now to help the poster: Since you did not live at the address on the dates in question do you have something such as a drivers license or other document showing what your address was for those dates?

Was the service in your name at that address prior to the dates you are questioning? Did you disconnect service prior to moving? How did you ask for disconnection?

I thought that he is an attorney. Isn't there a difference? Or, would it be that if he is an attorney working on behalf of the CAs that his advice would be just as suspect?

I am not a "collection agency employee." Please stop talking out of your behind. The aroma stinks. Not coincidentally, so do your boob answers in this thread.

No, Mr. Steve isn't a collection agency employee.. HE'S A JUNK DEBT BUYER !! A fair difference, but his answers are still slanted as pro-collection. As for being a lawyer, that depends on your definition. He has the education and the degree, but he never took the bar exam.. so he isn't REALLY a lawyer in that sense.

Arizona's answers are pertinent. If Sprint is trying to collect for services at a given address for a time where there wasn't even anything to service, then they may have no right to collect at all. If you didn't cancel IN WRITING, then that could be a big problem. If they are charging you for calls from a non-existent number from a home that wasn't there.. that is WRONG !

there was no phone, much less a house in which to have a phone****************************.it looks like it is for long distance only? I have already had an instance of identy theft with Sprint and Altell. The funny thing is the people actually paid their bills for a year before they let it go into collections.

There you go "The people actually paid their bills before letting it go into collections". Ask to see copies of the checks or credit card receipts!
