amex old debt was paid in 94 but amex is calling again


What is the name of your state?massachusetts
i paid amex collector in 95 now amex is directly contacting me trying to collect but i paid a collector for them in 1995 i lost my receipts what do i have to worry about here? also other collectors from 94 and 1995 are again mailing me for old debt which i was co account holder on a card... however the 2nd collection co is contacting asking me to pay on behalf of their client the first? collection co for the orig bank pnc? is their a limit to time for me to worry?

The statute of limitations is 6 years. Send them a cease and desist letter, certified mail return receipt, stating you paid it and the SOL has passed regardless.

It should also be off your credit reports--make sure they don't try to reage the accounts.
