| | Auto ext. approved-FAX not sent-Repo trick? What is the name of your state? Michigan
Truck purchased new in late 2002, my father as buyer, myself as cosigner. Both on title. Financed through Chrysler. I made all payments, due on 6th, but fell behind after his death. I caught up again in a few months. Have made 10 payments since then, six on time or early, four between 1 and 8 days late. Have not gone beyond 8 days late since April '06. This month (March) I called on the 19th and requested an extension, Cust. Rep., told me it was approved. I was told to pay the $38.23 interest pymt, (I did online that day) and to sign and FAX back the ext. paper being FAXed to me, because my account would not be credited until it was signed and recieved back by Chrysler. It was not FAXed, I have emailed Chrysler three times, once recieved the standard "Please contact Cust. Serv. to request...), no other replies. I called twice since then, have been assured that they have my FAX number, that it will be sent, that the Cust. Reps are not allowed to send, it must be "requested", and that they are "backed up", and it would be sent in 24-48 hours. It has been four days, still no FAX sent to me, my online account shows March pymt still due (minus the interest payed).
I owe 13 more pymts including this one, I am worried that this is a trick, Chrysler is going to repo my truck, so I paid $200 more on it today (online) and will pay the rest due for March tomorrow.
My questions are:
Does it normally take days to FAX an extension, could they really be that backed up, and why ignore my calls and emails?
Will Chrysler repo my truck because I fell behind again (thirteen days from time of ext. request, seventeen days total) ?
Thank you for your help. Nan |

| | | I don't know why they haven't faxed it, but they are NOT in the repo business. And, you should call about an extension ON OR BEFORE the due date, not 2 weeks later. |

| | | They are not in the repo business means that the easiest way for them to make money, is for you to make your payments ontime. That doesn't cost them anything. If they have to have your vehicle repo'd, then auctioned, then bill you for the remainder and HOPE that you pay, otherwise they'll sue...That's way too much work, which is not why they are a lender. | |
