OK, my wife has suddenly out of the blue been receiving collection notices for a check she wrote on 2/26/00 that was bad. Almost five years ago. I'm wondering if it's even legal for them to wait this long to start collecting on it. She just started receiving notices in December for this. Online I can't really find anything but have worked at a bank before and remember something about a four year statute of limitations. Is this right?
