I work for an Oil Company here in NJ...I handle all legal collections, including bringing customers to court who don't pay their bills and or bounced checks to us. I have a situation where the customer has bounced a check for $510.00 which is a 4th degree crime and indictable. I demanded payment with no response, so this was brought to the Police Department for a report and a complaint to be filed with the local court. I received a message from this customer stating that the are filing bankruptcy by the middle of June. My question is can I still proceed with the complaint against them, the customer wants to make payment arragements, which is not my policy..I require payment in full, in cash. I hope you can help me with my question.
