Bail BondsWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California ![]() I would like to know if I could be sued for sigining a bail for the primary signer in which she needed several signers to get her husband out of jail. The primary signer is no longer paying the bailbond in which they have sent over to collections in which I received letter stating that legal action is being filed against me. What can i do to make the primary signer liable to pay the bailbond. Lost ![]() |

| The entire reason that you had to sign is that the bondsman wanted to be covered in case the primary did not pay. You signed your name and are now on the hook for it. Once you pay the bondsman, you can sue the primary to recover your costs. If she has no money to collect, then even a winning court judgment may be pointless. |
