Bank Account Freezes

What is the name of your state? NM

I have been reading alot of threads regarding bank account freezing after a CC company has obtained a judgment. Am I missing something? Once a person receives a summons, why would they leave funds in the bank that could conceivably be frozen once they either appear or do not appear in court, knowing the judge is likely to grant a judgment and the possibility of freezing their account exists?
