| Q. Do they have any moral obligation to inform you that a levy as been placed on your account? A. No. Moral obligations are hard to enforce. I do know that they can't give you a "heads up" before they freeze the funds. Q. Are there any law requiring the bank to notify a customer about a levy? A. There might be a state law. But, generally it is the responsibility of the creditor's attorney to notify you about the levy and provide you a copy of the levy order. My advice would be to change banks if you have concerns. |
