bank garnishments from collection agenciesWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kansas I have just started a job after not being able to find one for almost 2 yrs. I do not have a cking or savings acct however my husband has a savings acct. we have had lots of bills from my last pregnancy and no job. One collection agency has now sent 3 garnishment orders to my employer and one to my husbands bank account. Since I am not jointly on his acct do they have a legal right to take any money from his acct? And while looking at the garnishment laws for kansas it says that no one creditor can have more than 2 garnishments in a 30 day period. Is that correct? I got a job to feed my kids and pay some bills and if they garnish my wages and my husbands bank account we wont be able to pay daycare, buy food or anything else? Please helpWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |
