Visa has sued me for a past due account. I was served today. It says I have 10 days to give a written response or a default judgment may be taken against me. What is a default judgment? What can I do? What should I do? Can they garnish my wages? your state?

Not in your state, with some very esoteric exceptions. Your state affords many protections, but you're not immune to all enforcement measures. Again, you should do a little reading.
