Boss refuses to pay salary

What is the name of your state? Puerto Rico


Hey guys! My name is Marat. The problem is not with me, but with my friend. He lives in Puerto Rico in San Juan. He was recently fired, for insufficient reasons, but that's another matter altogether. The problem is, last friday was his last day, this monday his boss calls him wondering why he didn't come in to work. He basically said that unless my friend finishes a certain project he will not pay him his last paycheck. Now I don't know any Puerto Rican law and seems like neither does my friend. My questions are: Can his boss do that and what can my friend do about this problem? Your help is greatly appreciated.

This really belongs in the employment law section, not debt collection.
