Broken Auto Lease

What is the name of your state? Texas

My husband leased a pickup for approximately 4 + years of the 5 years that he had signed on the contract. He lost his job and had fallen behind on the payments and then was so far behind he just told them to come pick it up. To get direct to the question, they say after the auction that he owes $ 3,000.00 on the truck. They called him yesterday and said that he would have to pay $350.00 down and then set up payments on this truck or they would garnish his wages**************the question: I thought in Texas that the only time wages could be garnished was for payment of back child support. Is this right? If they can, which we do not want them to do, do we HAVE to pay them the $ 350.00 down? We are still trying to get caught up from the time he was out of work. THANKS for answering my question. What is the name of your state?
