I think for collection it stays on report for 7 years, bankcruptcy 10 years, sometimes it 's not removed automatically, and you have to call credit report company to remove it, i just checked my report it's going to stay there until 2013

The collection account may very well stay on your credit report until 2013, but a judgement if obtained will remain 10 years from the date of the judgement and then can be renewed for another ten years after that.

Be ready to live most of the rest of your life with crappy credit.
