CA after me for small Bill

What is the name of your state? Colorado

I have an outstanding medical bill since Sept 05 for 200.

This last month I was contacted for the first time by a CA saying, "we (the CA) have tried to contact you many times by phone and mail." In short there is an interest charge on the bill of about 14 dollars and it is the first time I have had any news of it going to collection.

Can I just pay the balance and tell them where to stick the interest?

Also with this low of amount what are the odds if not collected it will go onto my credit report?

Thanks in advance,

ko

PS. FYI I've paid over 65,000 dollars for a disabillity saving surgery over the last 6 months. In the heat of all these battles (financially and medically) I missed this one.

Sure, but that's not going to stop them from purusing you for the interest amount.

Chances are it's ALREADY on your reports. There are no minimums. I've seen collections for less than $10 reported. The point is to nail you for daring to not pay the bill and to tell the world you goofed.
