CA - Letter from Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk

What is the name of your state? I live in California. I received a Notice of Involuntary Lien letter from Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk today. The letter states that there is a judgment that has been placed against me for $3,860.00. Is this letter a notification that a lien has been placed again my property or is this letter authorizing a lien against my property for the specified sum? A plaintiff (collection agency) is stated in the lien. Do I have to contact them about clearing this lien if this is a lien, or what else should I do in this situation? Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any more details. Thank you.

Yes, you need to contact the Plaintiff/Judgment Creditor to resolve the matter. Be sure to have the lien released when you have paid the Judgment Creditor.
