I had an agreement thru divorce that I was to pay my own credit cards. I am not working & going thru soc. sec. to get this for disabilty. So I was unable with what I got from my divorce settlement to pay this credit card. I live with somene & only get $200. a month from pub. assist. The debt which I am the card holder has my X as a authorized user. Which I no because I had this a few yrs. before the divorce. The collectors has been calling and trying to settle with up & down amounts. I tried to tell them I would make payments on this $6,000. But they said to late. They need like $2,000. first. SO now its supposed to be out of there hands and going to court here in Bradford County . The thing is they said they are also going to summon my X, that he is responsible also! Then My X can get me in hot water because of the divorce agreement. I also told them that I have a $10,000 lein on the house my X now has, because he still owes me this. Why couldn,t they just go in on that? They said they would take my X to court also because they no he has enough on his credit cards to pay this card of mine. How can they take him to court & make him responsible when he was just an AUTHORIZED USER??? I own a 2001 chevy cavileir & a 1977mobil home that is also in another persons name (not just mine) what can they really do to me or my X?????What is the name of your state?
