What is the name of your state? Michigan

My boyfriend's father, a down on his luck alcoholic, passed away recently. He left some credit card debt. There is no estate to cover it, but he did have life insurance and my boyfriend is the beneficiary. Can the credit card companies come after this money?

It is very unlikely. I have not read the policy details, but life insurance beneficiaries are not part of the estate.
