Can creditors find my unlisted phone number? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia Due to circumstances beyond my control, I couldn't pay my credit card bills for the last 3 months. I have tried to work things out to set up payment plans, but the only way they have been willing to work with me is if I agree to allow an automatic debit from my bank account. For medical reasons, I cannot agree to that, if push comes to shove, I will pay for my medications and then pay creditors what I can. All of this has been done through phone calls. I really can't count how many times I've answered calls just to end up at the same problem. About a month ago, I started refusing to answer any calls from any of them. (Thank God for caller ID). In a way, this has actually helped, since they can't get ahold of me by phone, they began sending letters. Oddly enough, the letters are offers of lower payments without requiring automatic debits. I am NOT trying to get out of paying my debts, and I have begun sending each creditor small amounts. However, the phone calls continue. I have been told by all of them that the calls will continue unless I pay the debt in full. I am having a hard time with calls that begin at 7:25 AM and end at 9:00PM, about 20 to 30 calls per day. I suffer from depression and this is only making things worse for me. I already have an unlisted phone number.Of course my creditors were given my number by me. My question is this: If I get my already unlisted phone number changed, is there any way that my creditors can find out what the number is? |

| Replace your land line with a cell phone, and turn it off when you don't wish to receive calls.
