I got a judgement placed against me in 2010 in NJ from a debt buyer(CACH NJ). It was originally a capital one cc that got charged off because their "payment protection" that I paid for it the entire time I had the card kept getting denied when I lost my job. Anyway...
I am willing to pay the judgement in full but only if they completely remove the judgement from my credit report as if it had never happen. From what I've been reading about the topic if I pay it in full it will just update to paid in full on my credit report and the judgement will still show which I don't want. I want the judgement totally gone from my credit report. So here's my questions:
1. Should I/Can I negotiate a vacation of judgement upon me paying the balance in full?
2. If I can negotiate the vacation of the judgement how do I go about this? By calling the lawyers office and telling them that aunt sally will only pay my judgement if they vacate the judgement? Then request it in writing from the lawyers office before making the payment?
3. If they don't agree to those terms what else can I try to get it off my credit report? Wait out the last 2 years until it falls off my credit report?
By the way I have no bank accounts in my name or assets at the current time so its not like they can pull the money from me any other way at this point...
I used to be a debt collector so I know the basics of dealing with collection agencies but I've never dealt with a judgement.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
