Can I sue in small claims court? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California I lent $1500 to a friend. They promised verbally to pay me back the entire amount 3 weeks after I lent the money to them. I contacted my friend and she asked for more time. It is now more than 6 weeks past the date I lent her the money and now she refuses to accept my calls. Is there any way to collect this money? Would I have a chance in small claims court? It was a vebal agreement but I do have the bank withdrawal information to back up my claim. |

| Yes, you can sue. Do you have a chance? Probably 50/50 more or less.
