cancel debtWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I took some classes at Simmons college in Boston MA. I owe dmoney directly to he school because the loan I was waiting for did not come through. My acct is now with a collecion agency. The total amount is $15000. Can the school cancel the debt given that I have no tanscript, no access to the credit I have earned and no proof of the classes I have taken to somehow show potential employers in order to get a job. Should't they just cancel the debt. Thanks |

| No, they have absolutely no reason to cancel the debt. You owe it, you need to pay it. When the college is paid in full, you'll be able to get your transcript. You agreed to pay them tuition so you could take classes to earn credits toward a degree. You seem to be under the mistaken belief that tuition is merely payment for a transcript, so if no transcript is given to you that you don't have to pay for the classes you took. You couldn't be more wrong. ![]() |
