Car Payments.....What is the name of your state? TX I'm a F/T college student and fell behind on my car payments. A week ago someone showed up at my parents home to repo my car. A friend (who was visiting) told him I didn't live there. It's my official address by I go to school elsewhere. Today, my mother gets a phone call from a woman who is representing 'OSI' and she leaves a number for me to call, saying that if my mother doesn't give me the message today, my car will be reported stolen. Is this legal???? The woman didn't want to tell my mother what 'OSI' is. Last edited by sunny787; 11-30-2004 at 04:20 PM. |

| First please read the rules and follow them and you may have gotten more help before now. (clue: don't type in all caps) Next, who is the car registered to? Who is the owner of the car? If you are in default they have the right to repo. They can't tell your mother information about what is going on unless she is on the loan also.

| The car is registered in my name. The lien holder is NISSAN. My mother is not on the loan. And yes, I am at default with my payments. Can 'OSI' report the vehicle as stolen, when it's not? |

| OSI is a collection agency, plain and simple. I don't believe OSI can report anything stolen, it was never in THEIR possession to begin with and only NISSAN could do such a thing anyway. They are trying to scare you... if you can't pay for the car, then they WILL take it back and they WILL find it eventually.
