Case Dismissal???What is the name of your state? Michigan I was served with a summons back in July for defaulting on my car loan. On the lawsuit paper work, it had the amount listed as $55000. They messed up and had put in an extra 0 in the number. I owe them aprox. 5500. Anyway, in my answer to the summons, I put in that I do not owe the bank $55000 because I don't. They set the court date for March of 2006. I was surprised that it was that far off. Anyway, today I received a dismissal from the court. It says: Notice of Dismissal by Plaintiff Without prejudice And then at the bottom Order to Dismiss IT IS ORDERED that this case is dismissed and then the box is checked for without prejudice. Ok what does this mean? Does it mean they can just re file with the correct amount on the case? Or that they are just not going to do anything? Thanks for any help! ~N |
