In 2002 I was contacted by collection agency#1 about a cell phone bill that was not mine.Someone I knew had used my information to obtain a phone in 1999.They defaulted a couple years later,and several phones later to the tune of $7,000.I hired a lawyer who contacted them and demand they produce a contract/any contract that I signed stateing I would be responsible for her bill.They never did, ( there is no such thing).Never heard from them again.They sold the account to agency#2.Contacted by them 2004.Again, I disputed the debt,requested a copy of the contract,so forth.Never received anything from them ever again.They sold contract to agency#3 in 2005.Received demand letter from them April 2005,responded with dispute letter and demand of contract.Never heard from them again, nothing. In Sept 2005 they reported this to all 3 credit reporting compaines as a judgement/bad debt.They do not have,nor have they ever had a judgement against me. I found out about this because my liability insurance company and my bond company will not renew because of my credit now.I have never,ever in my entire life ever had anything turned to a collection agency.I have an appointment with my attorney on Tues.
